Dr. Stanley Schwartz is an internationally recognized endocrinologist, diabetes researcher, and educator with more than five decades of leadership in diabetes care and clinical investigation. He earned his M.D. from the University of Chicago, completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and his fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Chicago. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Schwartz has lectured extensively in the United States and internationally on diabetes pathophysiology and treatment. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and served as a lead or co-investigator in landmark clinical trials, including the DCCT/EDIC and LOOK AHEAD studies. Dr. Schwartz is widely recognized for advancing innovative concepts in diabetes, including the early recognition and treatment of prediabetes, strategies to minimize unnecessary insulin use in type 2 diabetes, the Beta Cell–Centric Classification and Unified Pathophysiologic Construct for All Diabetes, and the concept of The Diabetes Syndrome as a framework for precision medicine and comprehensive diabetes care. Dr. Ravi Kumar is a seasoned biopharmaceutical executive, translational medicine leader, entrepreneur, and inventor with nearly four decades of experience advancing innovative therapies across cardiometabolic, immune, inflammatory, cardiovascular, renal, and infectious diseases. His career spans scientific and executive leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, Pfizer, The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, ARKAY Therapeutics, and Claveritas, where he is advancing precision medicine strategies for cardiometabolic disease.
Dr. Kumar has extensive expertise in precision medicine, translational research, biomarker strategy, clinical development, regulatory science, and portfolio leadership, with a proven track record of advancing innovative therapeutic programs from target identification and translational research through IND submission and Phase 3 clinical development. Throughout his career, he has led multidisciplinary teams, global clinical programs, regulatory interactions, strategic partnerships, and cross-functional product development initiatives across biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations. He has also served as Project Leader and Co-Project Leader for the discovery and development of multiple therapeutic programs targeting cardiometabolic disease.
As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ARKAY Therapeutics, Dr. Kumar conceived the product concept and led the development of TriGlytza™, a first-in-class beta cell-centric therapeutic approach for type 2 diabetes. The program was recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) as a Thought Leader Innovation in 2024 and was subsequently out-licensed for continued development and commercialization. Dr. Kumar designed the RESILIENCE-T2D clinical trial, authored the Investigational New Drug (IND) application, and successfully obtained U.S. FDA clearance for IND 136121 at the conclusion of the initial 30-day review period. Earlier in his scientific career, Dr. Kumar made pioneering contributions to molecular biology by cloning and characterizing two previously uncloned human genes: the pulmonary and testicular angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) isozymes at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the alpha subunit of the stimulatory G protein (Gsα) at New York University. These discoveries established a foundation for a career dedicated to translating breakthrough science into transformative medicines.
Dr. Kumar is the inventor of U.S. Patent No. 9,839,644 B2, Formulations and Methods for Treatment of Metabolic Syndrome, reflecting his long-standing commitment to innovation in precision therapeutics for cardiometabolic disease.
He earned both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology from New York University and completed a Mini-MBA (mMBA) in BioPharma Innovation through the Center for Management Development at Rutgers University Business School.

He serves as Director of Clinical Research and is a practicing endocrinologist at the Albany Med Faculty Practice: Community Endocrine Group. Dr. Busch earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, completed his internship, residency, and Chief Medical Residency at North Shore University Hospital, and completed his fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Albany Medical College. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Busch has served as Principal Investigator in more than 100 clinical trials spanning type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, and lipid disorders.
